Creating “Ripple Effect” Benefits for At-Risk Youth and Families Worldwide

When a successful direct selling corporation makes philanthropy one of its most important initiatives great things happen. Especially the underserved and poverty stricken children of the world.

In 2015, Nerium International’s Chief Marketing Officer Amber Olson Rourke and CEO Jeff Olson officially launched the Nerium Ripple Foundation to support two beloved philanthropic partners Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBS) and World Vision International (WVI). Nerium International, founded in 2011, has made this philanthropic mission a part of its daily corporate culture and engages its network of Independent Brand Partners to support these noble endeavors.

Nerium Gives Back

Since its inception, the Nerium Ripple Foundation has raised more than $3 million on behalf of BBBS and WVI, helping at-risk youth through mentoring programs and improving conditions for families living in impoverished communities.

The Nerium Ripple Foundation raised more than $1.2 million dollars in 2016 and has set a new goal of $1.5 million for 2017. This heartfelt effort, led by Nerium Ripple Foundation Chair and President Amber Olson Rourke, encourages Independent Brand Partners to become “Bigs” to “Littles” within the BBBS organization, mentoring at-risk youth to reach their full potential in life. World Vision mission trips are engaging annual events at Nerium International. Most recently, 28 Nerium Mexico Independent Brand Partners and executive volunteers built water tanks and a children’s literacy room during a November 2016 trip to Matlapa, San Luis Potosi – a great example of how Nerium International embodies the core value of servant leadership.

Community Engagement with Nerium

To raise much needed funds throughout each year, Nerium Ripple Foundation hosts BBBS Bowl for Kids’ Sake tournament events and features the Ripple Booth at Nerium International’s annual Get Real conference to also sign up Nerium Brand Partner “Big” matches and monthly donors. Nerium International was the proud recipient of the BBBS 2016 Honorary Corporate Partner award, a distinguished accolade recognizing the company as the largest corporate fundraising partner in the United States. In addition to financial support, more than 300 Nerium International Independent Brand Partners and Employees volunteer to mentor children in Big Brothers Big Sisters programs nationwide.
To kick off 2017, Nerium Ripple Foundation helped launch the Great Big Challenge fitness initiative in January, started a Spotlight 17 text giving mobile fundraising campaign and will continue to host Bowl for Kids’ Sake fundraising events for local community outreach.

To date, Nerium International works with BBBS in the U.S., Canada and Australia. World Vision is Nerium International’s partner in countries where it conducts business including Mexico, Korea and Colombia, with more countries on the horizon as the company expands.

It is ingrained in Nerium International’s corporate culture, to give back to others, creating a ripple effect of generosity, kindness and positivity.
